Let's talk about fair and accessible grading and share innovative strategies for trying to achieve fairer grading practices and learning outcomes in our courses. Attendees will leave with a deepened understanding of the challenges but also the possibilities for equitable, inclusive, and rigorous assessment and grading practices for their own courses.
Amy Lueck (English) will facilitate a discussion with panelists from across the disciplines–Matt Gomes (English), Stephanie Hughes (Environmental Studies & Sciences), Sofia Kotsiri (Economics), Maria Kyrarini (Electrical & Computer Engineering), and Tonya Nilsson (Civil, Environmental & Sustainable Engineering). We will consider how grading interacts with assessment, identify barriers to fair and accessible grading practices, and discuss innovations that can help us confront those barriers.
